I’m constantly in pursuit of the best squirrel- and black bird-proof feeder and this cage feeder is definitely in the running! Just enough space to let the little birds in to eat and still keep the big critters away from the buffet – a great gardening gift for anyone who enjoys watching the birds in their garden!

I Don’t Hate Squirrels!
Now, I’m not opposed to feeding the squirrels. And I have been known to serve up some dinner delight especially for the hundreds of gray squirrels that reside in the huge oak trees in my neighborhood. But I do not want them to eat all the expensive sunflower seeds and scare away the birds!
Little Birds Dine Safely
This Globe Cage Feeder provides a safe place for smaller birds to eat in peace. The feeder holds up to 1 1/2 pounds of sunflower seeds plus it has drainage holes in the bottom to keep the seeds dry. The black steel globe cage is 11 3/4″ in diameter and has it’s own hanging loop. It does come with a latching top but some customers suggest making sure to twist the top securely to keep out those hungry squirrels!
My neighbors have a similar round feeder but the openings are still large enough to let a small squirrel squeeze through, curl in a circle, and dine to his heart’s content! They’ve actually seen in happen! But there’s no way any squirrel is going to fit through the small openings in this Globe Cage Feeder.
