What a wonderful surprise when I received a gift subscription to Birds & Blooms magazine from a friend! I get lots of magazines each month and Birds & Blooms is now one I certainly look forward to reading over and over.
Gardeners and bird- watchers LOVE Birds & Blooms
Each issue is filled with informative, easy to read feature stories and covers topics like in-depth articles about specific plant species, birds or butterflies, private gardens, birdhouses, organic gardening, hummingbirds, how-to projects, and on and on. I look forward to sitting down with each issue of Birds & Blooms because I know I’ll get great ideas and tips from contributing editors and knowledgeable readers sharing their experiences. (The Winter Bird section in the December/January 2009 magazine was wonderful and so informative!)
But most of all, I LOVE the pictures. They are gorgeous. Many are shot by professional photographers but I also enjoy the pictures and stories sent in by every-day readers like me. In fact, that’s where I learned how to keep greedy squirrels out of my bird-feeders by threading the pole through a Slinky (yes, the toy!) to keep the squirrels from scampering up to enjoy brunch! It works!
Birds & Blooms is a great gardening gift for anyone on your list and sure to bring many hours of enjoyment and entertainment as well as great information for the gardening, bird- or butterfly-watching enthusiast on your list. I love giving (and receiving) magazine gift subscriptions because I know it’s a gift that will be enjoyed for months to come.
