Pioneer Woman Cooks Is A Great Gift … I Know!

OK, the Pioneer Woman Cooks (Recipes From An Accidental Country Girl) may not be a true, died in the wool, gardening gift, but you need to know about it anyway. Author Ree Drummond has written a beautiful book, sharing her wonderful love story about a city girl gone country when she followed her Marlboro Man to a cattle ranch in Oklahoma.
And, of course, the book is filled with deliciously delightful recipes. Wait, maybe her recipe for Huevos Hyacinth does qualify this book as a gardening gift (even though Hyacinth is really a girlfriend of hers!).
My good friend, Claudia, sent me the book for Christmas and I have to admit, I was a bit surprised when I opened the package. Oh, yeah, it was a nice, glossy, hard-back book. But after all, Claudia certainly knows that I’m not really into cooking! “What possessed her to give me a recipe book?” I thought. However, I was hooked as soon as I turned just a few pages. I couldn’t put it down! (Claudia even knows Ree’s family who lives close to her hometown in Oklahoma.)
Ree makes the recipes easy to follow and includes lots of helpful step-by-step pictures about each one. (Thank goodness for me!) And the true gardening enthusiast will enjoy the beautiful photos of the countryside, ranch life, and gardens, plus gorgeous flower illustrations.
I absolutely laughed out loud when I saw the pictures of Ree’s two dogs, Charlie and Suzie. She calls them her identical twins and says “sometimes I can hardly tell them apart!” I’ll just let you decide for yourself.
Click here to order Pioneer Woman Cooks now. I’m sure your friend(s) will love receiving it as much as I did. And don’t forget to get one for yourself.
Thanks again, Claudia.
