My #1 Gardening Gift Idea Makes Tipsy Pots Look Like They’re Floating!

You’ll swear it’s magic!  I’m no magician but here’s a picture of my floating flower pots on my deck this summer.  They’re really fun and easy to make, and the gardener on your list is going to LOVE it!   This metal plant stand is my #1 gardening gift recommendation for 2009.

crazypots3Several years ago I bought metal plant stands at a garden show for my mother, my sister, and me.  I’ve learned since then that some people call them tippy or tipsy pots.  But we call them drunken pots or crazy pots in our family!

Every year we have so much fun designing  and comparing our drunken pots.  They’re always show stoppers and many people have asked where we got them but we didn’t know where to send them to buy one.  So I couldn’t believe it when I found the Incredible Plant Stand available online that’s almost exactly like the plant stands we have!

The Incredible Plant Stand

The Incredible Plant Stand

The base is almost exactly the same as ours but the stem is a bit shorter.  Our plant stands hold five pots and the Incredible Plant Stand holds four.   But the shorter height doesn’t make it any less dazzling as a magical focal point in the garden or on the patio.

I’ve seen people write about tipsy pots in several gardening forums and they always plant them in the middle of the yard or a flower bed.  Usually they talk about driving a metal bar through the drainage hole in the bottom pot straight into the ground.

Obviously that works but that prevents placing them on any hard surface.   Instead, the Incredible Plant Stand offers the option of sitting on a deck, patio, OR on the ground if that’s preferred.

However, if they’re going to be placed on a hard surface, I strongly recommend placing the bottom pot on a plant dolly (with wheels!) before the stacking process begins.  I quickly learned that several pots filled with flowers and dirt get very heavy and are much easier to move with a plant dolly!

Believe me, the gardener on your list is going to LOVE the Incredible Plant Stand!   It’s unique.  It provides a challenge that gardeners love.  AND, at $25.95, it won’t break your budget!  That’s why it’s my #1 gardening gift recommendation for 2009.   Click here to order yours today.  (Please note that the stand does NOT come with clay pots as pictured.)

P.S. #1  Through December 18, use code WWLS and save 10% off any Wind & Weather purchase of $100 or more.
