Buying a hobby related present is sure to be a hit with anyone on your list and finding great gifts for bird lovers is no different. But there are so many choices! Anything you need to feed, bathe, or house any wild bird passing through the neighborhood! So, I’ve selected a few of my favorites to help you save time in your search.
Less Than $50
Basket Wreath: The Large Woodland Basket is not only a storehouse of seeds and nesting materials for the birds, but it also looks great hanging on an outside door!- Puzzle: This 500-piece Wings Of Nature puzzle features a colorful collage of many favorite birds – this bird puzzle is sure to bring hours of enjoyment.
- Wall Clock: An antique looking Cardinal or Hummingbird Wall Clock will add to any room or outdoor decor.
- Bird Houses: For the environmentally conscious, consider the Eco-Friendly Bluebird or Wren House. Choose from a wide selection of bird houses.
- Bird Baths: The Petite Garden Bird Bath will look great in any garden, especially those smaller spaces. Take a look at the many different styles of bird baths! Bird bath accessories are also popular gifts. The Water Wiggler’s silent agitation not only attracts birds but keeps the water moving to avoid the spread of virus through mosquito eggs.
- Bird Feeder: You can take your pick of a bird feeder that attracts specific birds or maybe one that prevents the squirrels from stealing the food! I have had great success with the Squirrel Be Gone Feeder in my backyard. The weight of the squirrel causes the outer cage to drop and closes the openings to the seeds. It’s pretty funny to watch them try to figure it out! (The cardinals and smaller birds love feeding from this one.) The Droll Yankee Giant Finch Feeder has 20 ports to feed a whole flock of beautiful yellow finches. Lots of bird feeders to choose from!
- Books/Magazines/CDs/DVDs: Check out the Bird Feeder Book and any of the other beginner guides or booklets highlighting specific bird species. A subscription to the Bird Watchers Digest magazine includes six bi-monthly issues that are loaded with tips about bird feeding, bird behaviors, and more. I really enjoy listening to my relaxing Solitudes CDs like this Songbird Symphony CD and think they make great gifts. Or you may prefer a more educational gift like the First Flight DVD: A Mother Hummingbird’s Story (watch the short video about it below). It’s a wonderful story. Click here to purchase First Flight.
Greater than $50
Now here are just a few suggestions for gifts over $50:
- Hanger/Pole: The Quad Birdfeeder Hanger is a customer favorite and a best seller. The footings and design on this four birdfeeder stand make it really stable and secure.
- Bird Feeder: The Squirrel Buster Plus is a best seller, too. Watch the video to see how it works!
- Heated Bird Baths: The All Seasons Heated Birdbath with Pedestal has a built in heater and offers an easy way to hide the cords. Great design.
- And finally, this one is really amazing. The Audubon BirdCam is a motion activated camera that takes still pictures and videos wherever you direct it. Think about the great shots and educational videos you can get around a feeder, birdbath, or nest, and then look at them on your TV or computer. Watch the video to see how it works. So much fun for kids and adults! Click here to order the Audubon BirdCam.
