Healthy houseplants need good light.  Since technological advances in artificial lighting have made it much easier to start seeds, grow vegetables, or maintain strong houseplants, year round indoor gardening can be enjoyed from the comforts of home!  Grow lights and indoor growing systems make wonderful gardening gifts for home gardeners on any occasion!2tiersunlitegarden

With an indoor light garden, consider the natural environment and lighting requirements for the plant(s) you wish to grow - including those brought inside for the winter.   Some will need as much light as possible if they prefer full sunshine outside.  Other plants prefer partial shade so the indoor lighting doesn’t need to be as strong.  And regardless of their preferences, everything needs a bit of down time … the plants darkness, too!  But again, the length of the dark period varies by plant.

SunLite Gardens are available in many sizes, configurations, and components for effective home gardening:

  • Tabletop, Floor, 2-Tier, and 3-Tier Models
  • T-5 Full Spectrum bulbs more closely replicate the solar spectrum of natural light
  • T-5 Full Spectrum bulbs use 45% less energy than standard fluorescent bulbs and provide up to 10,000 hours of use
  • Pull chains for each fixture allow easy height adjustments between the bulbs and the plants
  • Electronic ballasts eliminate annoying buzzing sounds
  • Complete SunLite system includes frame and fixtures, T-5 bulbs, watertight shelf trays and casters

Grow lights or an indoor light garden provide years of enjoyment for any home gardener – and unique gardening gifts for the gardeners on your list.  (Or maybe you should add a SunLite Garden to your wish list!)

  • Plants should be rotated weekly so all can bask under the strongest light in the center of the bulbs.
  • Bulbs should be cleaned at least monthly to remove any dust or dirt that reduce the amount of light available for the plants.
  • If you feel warmth when you place your hand next to the foliage closest to the bulb, the bulb is too close!

Indoor gardening with SunLite Gardens gets our green thumbs up!
