Reusable Shopping Bags Carry Big Cargo

My reusable shopping bag is heavy even when it’s empty!  Not a good thing when you’re trying to load up on fresh tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, corn on the cob, and a watermelon at the local Farmer’s Market!  (Remember, I just grow flowers, not vegetables.)  My big awkward canvas shopping bag may be eco-friendly but not so friendly on my shoulder.

Saturday morning in the summer means going to the Farmer’s Market at my house.  I love visiting each vendor’s booth to see what’s in season and what surprises are in store for this week’s menus.

Even though all the vendors provide plastic grocery bags, I’m really trying to make smart choices about conserving and recycling.  So, coming home with 8 or 10 additional plastic bags is unnecessary and completely avoidable.  After schlepping that big canvas monster at the market this weekend, I started looking for lightweight shopping bags that would be easier on my shoulder and still strong enough to hold my produce. Small Package And Mighty Performance

Each colorful set contains five reusable bags that roll up tight enough to fit in a pouch about the size of a make-up bag.  Small enough to fit in a glove box or handbag.  They may not look very mighty but each bag has reinforced seams and is large enough to hold as much as two plastic grocery bags – up to 44 lbs!
