Unfortunately, the items shown below are no longer available.  I apologize for any inconvenience.  However, please check out these long-neck or 3-gallon watering cans for your garden needs.

If usage determines the success of a gift choice, then my mom hit a home run with a watering can birthday gift a few years ago.  I use it every morning to water my container gardens and sometimes twice a day when the temperatures reach the upper 90′s like they did last week.  pigwateringcan(See, another great gardening gift!)

Pigs in the Garden?

Even watering cans add a whimsical touch of practical AND usable sculpture to any garden.   Whoever thought of inviting a pig or a duck in a garden (also available in a smaller piglet design)!  Now these would be a unique gift for any gardener with a sense of humor!

hawswateringcanOr you may prefer a more traditional latticework design like the rust-resistant Haws Watering Can – available in bronze or graphite-grey.

The long neck on these watering cans makes it easy to get to hard to reach pots while the shower effect of the removable brass nozzle (called a ”rose”) doesn’t disturb or injure the plants.  And I really like the ergonomic 2-handle design:  a handle on the top for easy carrying and a back handle for pouring and tipping.

My watering can is super easy to fill up directly from my rain barrel and its two-gallon capacity is easy to carry all around the yard.  I can get a lot of watering accomplished with just one fill-up!   Watering cans are useful gifts for any gardener.

These fun and practical watering cans get our green thumbs up!

I’m so sorry that these watering cans are no longer available via the web site or catalog due to today’s announcement about the closing of Smith & Hawken. Some merchandise is still available at individual store locations until their final closing expected later in 2009. Sorry for the inconvenience.
